The NDSN school 69 commenced PTS in January 1967 and to celebrate 50 years a  reunion was celebrated in September 2017. Twenty graduates gathered in Bendigo at the Brougham Arms hotel in a room specially chosen for the event. Privacy was essential in anticipation for all the stories that occurred whilst training. Hilarious events were retold to great laughter and cheer.

Photo boards and albums were placed on the high bench along  with other memorabilia which also created fond memories and giggles.

So what happened in 1967 whilst we were entering our nursing career:

Yes, we packed and unpacked suitcases between family homes, Lister House Hostels and the Hospital Nurses Homes. Some events were as follows. The Vietnam War continued, Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared, movie ticket cost $1.25 and the music and movie industry released some of theall time greats. A list of current affairs and pop songs provided interesting reflection from the attending graduates of Lister House.

The reunion cake was cut by our most senior graduate Del. Lorraine, Judy and Elaine came from interstate, others Geelong, Melbourne, Mildura, Castlemaine and Bendigo.

Sunday Brunch was enjoyed at Boardwalk, Lake Weeroona before everyone departed for other engagements. As we have more current contact details another reunion will be easier. The next NDSN reunion will be promoted here and many were keen to join NDSN graduates.

Apologies: Margaret Turner and Jenny Gledhill
Most senior member attending was Del McCann (cutting the cake)
